Abstract

We have searched for a magnetic-dipole rotation transition of the isotope /sup 16/O/sup 18/O toward rho Oph and Orion A at a wavelength of 1.3 mm. Upper limits on the intensity of this line imply that N2//N/sub CO/< or =0.13 and 0.67 in the two sources, respectively, so that neither harbors a hitherto undetected reservoir of oxygen in molecular form.
