Abstract

Abstract It is shown how representation theorems for distribution functions as obtained by Mulholland & Rogers (1958) can be applied to deduce upper bounds on stop-loss premiums under constraints on claim size distributions. In fact the present contribution extends and confirms some of the results derived by Taylor (1977) by means of a linear programming technique.
