Abstract

Suppose that in a layered crystal, the two-dimensional electron–hole lattice of a stripe configuration is realized to stabilize the local polarization caused by the ion shift in the c-axis direction. Upon doping carriers, when the antiferromagnetic correlation in the stripe direction is partially violated, superconductivity can be realized through the interaction with the elementary excitation of the electron–hole lattice oscillation. The obtained formula for the superconducting T c indicates that the T c may be increased up to about twice that of the cuprate, provided that the chemical potential for the formation of the electron stripe is around 1 eV.
