Abstract

The consistency of the standard model puts an upper bound on m H/ m W for any given ratio Λ cut/ m H, where Λ cut is the built-in, unremovable cut-off of the model. While the predictions on these bounds become increasingly reliable, there remain unresolved theoretical issues concerning their interpretation. The results, methods and open questions are reviewed in this paper.
