Abstract

The aim of the article is to present the results of a survey aimed at finding out the form and extent of the application of teacher’s piano performance and piano skills in contemporary music education in Slovakia. The survey was part of research (the first stage of the pre-research) of the causal relation between the teacher’s piano performance and the perceptual abilities of young learners. A total of 96 respondents took part in the survey. The results of the survey are presented primarily in the form of graphs, while the answers to the open questions subjected to categorization represent the qualitative content of the data supplemented by specific answers from the respondents, which clarify the content.
