Abstract

A modernized input unit of a microwave radio thermometer designed for the study of biological media is described. In this unit, a coupler is applied on the connected transmission lines. A part of the high-frequency signal of the noise generator branches from the main channel into the working arms of the secondary channel with different coefficients of transient attenuation, whose difference determines the range of measurements. Modeling the coupler parameters enables the creation of radio thermometers with specified measurement ranges.
