Abstract

Analysis, simulation, realization and results of a new kiln drive system consisting of two a.c. Motors, 315 kW size each on common tooth gear are presented in this work. Two separate inverter units control the motors with common rectifier. Illustration of how backlash problems on tooth gear and generally other high cost and maintenance needs are eliminated together with reducing down times and cost savings, by the application of modern technology power electronics and dynamic performance in control systems.
