Abstract

What began just over a year ago as an attempt by Robin Phillips to ease some of the artistic and administrative pressure in his job as head of the Stratford Festival has turned in recent months into one of the most bizarre stories in Canadian theatre history. And though the story remains incomplete as of press time, it is nevertheless quite clear that the shock waves from this series of events will be felt for years to come in the Canadian theatre.
