Abstract

This article examines the problem of cultural heritage from the point of view of modern Russian cultural policy. The actualization of the values of cultural heritage represents a specific decoding of the culture code and its transformation in accordance with modern cultural meanings. The appeal to dialogue as a methodological principle allows us to consider cultural heritage as a necessary condition for the existence of culture in its axiological dimension. The values of cultural heritage have the potential to resist the massification and standardization of culture and its transformation into a means of manipulating public consciousness. The author urges further study of the issue under consideration and argues for the need to actualize the cultural heritage with regard to specific problems of cultural policy that arise in regional cultural life.
