Abstract
Recent updates in the search for lepton-flavor-violating τ decays at the Belle experiment are presented. The Belle detector has successfully accumulated data samples of > 10 9 τ pairs. Using such a large amount of samples, searches for τ decays to a lepton and neutral pseudo-scalar meson or vector meson have been performed. The upper limit of the branching ratio (BR) was obtained to be O ( 10 − 8 ) . The search for τ → μ ρ set the most stringent upper limit ( BR 1.2 × 10 − 8 at the 90% confidence level) among all of the lepton-flavor-violating τ decays.
