Abstract

Radiofrequency ablation has been used over a decade as a treatment option for lung malignancies. More recent devices such as microwave and cryoablation may provide more diverse and improved treatment options, especially in patients with pulmonary oligometastases. Percutaneous lung ablations are best suited for medically inoperable patients with small primary lesions or favourably located metastases. This article provides a review of currently available ablative devices and its use in lung ablation.
