Abstract

The article presents the results of the study of students' civic position in the context of informational diversity and the typology of models of students’ civic education that consider the factor of informational diversity. The authors provide the data from an online survey in which 1,348 students from Russian universities took part. The study made it possible to reveal the degree of students' social involvement in socio-political processes and the level of their interest in events taking place in the political and cultural life of the country and the region, to identify the role of students in civil society and the socio-political life of the country. The results of the empirical research have formed the basis for the development of an original typology of models of civic education for students in the diverse information environment. The following criteria were used to describe the models: the nature of the pedagogical interaction between teachers and students; ways and means of organizing the process of civic education; socio-pedagogical space; sources of used information . Based on these criteria, the typology includes cognitive, institutional and activity models of civic education.
