Abstract

Mental health is a condition where an individual can develop physically, mentally, spiritually, and socially so that the individual is aware of their abilities, can cope with stress, can work productively, and is able to contribute to their community. Everyone can potentially experience mental health problems, People with mental disorders still experience discrimination, ridicule, are shunned, ignored, ostracized and considered a disgrace in society. This treatment is due to the lack of public knowledge about people with mental disorders. Community capacity can be improved through health education, especially early detection of mental health problems. The purpose of this service is to increase public knowledge about the importance of mental health. The method used in this community service activity is active and participatory learning through several stages, namely the preparation stage, the implementation stage and the evaluation stage with 15 participants in the Juli Mee Teungoh Village Community Hall, Juli District, Bireuen Regency on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 09.00 to 10.30 WIB. The results obtained by providing education and assistance can increase public knowledge and awareness in maintaining mental health. And routinely conduct early detection of symptoms of mental health problems. With the increasing good knowledge in the community regarding mental health problems so that the community also has a positive attitude towards people with mental disorders. It is hoped that the government will also hold a training program for all health services including community cadres, which will later be socialized in the community.
