Abstract

Muchammad Supardi K2513091. IMPROVING STUDENTS MOTIVATION AND LEARNING OUTCOME BY IMPLEMENTING QUANTUM LEARNING METHOD IN THE TURNING MACHINE THEORY IN THE MECHANICAL ENGINEERING CLASS 8-10 OF SURAKARTA.Mini Thesis, Surakarta: Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Sebelas Maret University, May 2017. The research is intended to improve learning motivation and result by Quantum Learning method to achieve the value of learning result by student in machine lathe theory in mechanical engineering X class grade at vocational high school of 5 surakarta in the academy year 2016/2017. The research is Classroom Action Research that conducted in two cycles of four stages, there are: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The subjects of research are 32 students. The instruments to collect data, there are, observation, documentation, test, and interview. The results of data collection were used opinion expert. The data was carried out of using descriptive comperative and critical analysis. The result of data shows that the Quantum Learning method can increase learning motivation and result in machine lathe theory. In precycles precentage of student learning motivation is 62.5% after Quantum learning method applied 75.68% in cycles I to 82.90% in cycles II. While the result of students learning achievement also increased from the value of each cycle test. On pre cycle namely the implementation of the Quantum learning method, the average learning achievement for cognitive domain 25% after the implementation of Quantum learning method learning achievement increase for cognitive domain becaome 50%. To 84.37% in cycles II. Research conculsion that the implementation of Quantum learning method can improve the learning motivation and result on the subject of machine lathe theory in X B mechanical engineering grade at vocational high school of 5 surakarta. Keyword: Classroom Action Research, Quantum Learning, Learning Motivation, Learning Result Turning Machine.
