Abstract

Learning main objective is to prepare qualified learners to achieve good human resources for the progress of a country. Based on the results of interviews and observations of student characteristics, it was found that students prefer to be directly involved in learning activities. Therefore, the application of learning in the classroom needs to adjust the characteristics of students and create learning activities that support maximum learning outcomes. The purpose of this study is to determine whether the team game tournament (TGT) type cooperative learning model can improve the learning outcomes of PPKn students at SMA Negeri 1 Palembang. This research approach is using the type of classroom action research (PTK). This research is taken with three cycles, each cycle consists of 1 meeting and goes through four stages, namely, planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. So from the application of 2 learning cycles this TGT type cooperative learning model can increase the learning outcomes of grade XI IPS 3 students. Evidenced by the acquisition of pre-cycle learning outcomes getting an average value of 68%, cycle I obtained an average of 79%, and cycle II obtaining an average learning outcome of 90%.ABSTRAKTujuan utama pembelajaran adalah untuk mempersiapkan peserta didik yang berkualitas untuk mencapai sumber daya manusia yang baik demi kemajuan suatu negara. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dan observasi karakteristik peserta didik diperoleh hasil bahwa peserta didik lebih senang dilibatkan langsung dalam aktivitas-aktivitas pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu penerapan pembelajaran di kelas perlu menyesuaikan karakteristik peserta didik dan menciptakan aktivitas-aktivitas belajar yang mendukung hasil belajar yang maksimal. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui apakah model pembelajaran kooperatif learning tipe team game tournament (TGT) dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar PPKn peserta didik di SMA Negeri 1 Palembang. Pendekatan penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan jenis penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Penelitian ini ditempuh dengan tiga siklus, setiap siklus terdiri dari 1 pertemuan dan melalui empat tahap yaitu, perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Maka dari penerapan 2 siklus pembelajaran model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT ini dapat meningkat hasil belajar peserta didik kelas XI IPS 3. Dibuktikan dengan perolehan hasil belajar pra-siklus mendapatkan rata-rata nilai sebesar 68%, siklus I diperoleh rata-rata sebesar 79%, dan siklus II memperoleh rata-rata hasil belajar sebesar 90%.
