Abstract

Port site hernia may develop after laparoscopic surgery. In general, we can recognize 2 types of port site hernia. The first is early-onset port site hernia where hernial sac is not created yet. This type is often presented by bowel obstruction with or without bowel wall necrosis. The second is late-onset port site hernia with created hernial sac. This type is often presented by palpable mass in port site scar or pain in this area. We evaluated incidence of port site hernia in the retrospective descriptive study.
