Abstract

Background and Objectives: The peroxiredoxin 6 (PRDX6) is an important cellular redox-regulating enzyme, and reported to be associated with carcinogenesis, invasion and metastasis in various cancers. Cyclophilin A (Cyp-A) is reported to be a binding protein of PRDX6 and enhances its antioxidant activity, which is also linked to tumour biology. However, there are no reports on the expression of PRDX6 and Cyp-A in tongue squamous cell carcinoma (TSCC) and their relationship. In order to clarify the potential functional role of PRDX6 and Cyp-A in TSCC, the present study made a preliminary exploration of expression of PRDX6 and Cyp-A in TSCC.
