Abstract
Non-cutting renal tract stone removal is the current standard of care. The Third World surgeon needs to use scarce financial resources to purchase appropriate instruments and develop techniques that allow him to remove nearly all-renal tract calculi without an incision. The Swiss Lithoclast is an efficient, robust, low maintenance and affordable lithotripter. It is designed for bladder and lower ureteric calculi. This paper describes simple positional changes that allow us to fragment upper ureteric, renal pelvis and renal calculi.
