Abstract
The shape of polyaniline film voltammetric characteristics (VAC) in acid solutions has been investigated. It was found that asymmetry of VAC is strongly connected with glasscarbon support processing. The difference between anodic and cathodic peak potentials in contradiction with the theory has a large constant value down to anomalously small scan rates (W) which is connected with the hysteresis of an electrochemical process. The main conclusion is that the oxidation and reduction properties should be characterized separately by the corresponding peak potentials at W O. This peculiarity was taken into account in the kinetic parameter calculations, the rate constant k=3.8×10 −5cm s −1 and diffusion coefficient of protons D=2×10 −5cm 2s −1 have been obtained.
