Abstract

Objective: To present a rare case of fibroosseous lesion of maxilla and zygoma with simultaneous occurrence of inflammatory cystic changes and sequestrum formation. Fibroosseous lesions have been implicated as a predisposing factor for development of osteomyelitis. Materials and methods: The patient reported to the maxillofacial OPD of MAIDS with complaints of swelling and pus discharge. Appropriate diagnostic imaging and laboratory investigations were done prior to surgical intervention. Results: Diagnostic imaging clearly showed a picture consistent with fibroosseous lesion along with two cystic lesions and pieces of sequestrum in relation to carious second molar.
