Abstract

We present a fully self-consistent equation of state for hot asymmetric (with arbitrary proton to neutron ratio) and symmetric nuclear matter for a wide range of temperatures and densities. Comparison with the observed (.) entropy from the fireball suggests that some unusual degrees of freedom would have to be responsible for the discrepancy.
