Abstract
The unique occurrence of unusual fatty acids like 12-hydroxy-octadec- cis-9-enoic acid (ricinoleic acid, 15.8%), 7-(2-octacyclopropen-1-yl)heptanoic acid (malvalic acid, 2.1%) and 8-(2-octacyclopropen-1-y1)octanoic acid (sterculic acid, 4.3%) along with the other normal fatty acids like myristic (3.6%), palmitic (32.1%), stearic (4.1%) oleic (8.0%), linoleic (15.0%) and linolenic (15.0%) have been detected in the seed oil of Crotalaria striata Syn.
