Abstract

We report two cases of life threatening hemoperitoneum arising due to ovarian rupture of rare etiology. The first patient, a 28-year-old woman, was a case of ovarian ectopic pregnancy, presented acutely with ovarian rupture and massive hemoperitoneum.Ectopic pregnancy was confirmed with histopathology of the wedge resected ovarian tissue. The second patient was a young girl of 16, who arrived with acute abdomen and in shock.Diagnostic laparoscopy showed massive hemoperitoneum & the only pathology found was bilateral smoothly enlarged ovaries (4 × 4” approx.) appearing like Krukenberg's tumours.
