Abstract

The term odontogenic keratocyst was first used by Philipsen in 1956. This lesion was recently renamed by him as keratocystic odontogenic tumor (KCOT) and reclassified as an odontogenic neoplasm in the World Health Organization's 2005 edition of its histological classification of odontogenic tumors. KCOT is a benign intraosseous neoplasm of the jaw and its occurrence in the maxillary sinus with an impacted third molar is very unusual. We report a case of KCOT in the right maxillary sinus with an impacted third molar.
