Abstract
The potentialities of Eye-One Pro mini-spectrophotometer – a monitor calibrator as a tool for measuring surface plasmon resonance (SPR) bands of nanoparticles (NPs) in solid matrices were studied by the example of gold and silver nanoparticles in polyurethane foam phase. Some characteristics of this instrument were compared with characteristics of a Spektroton laboratory colorimeter. It was shown that the mini-spectrophotometer could be used for the registration of SPR spectral band as diffuse reflectance spectrum as well as for the representation of colorimetric characteristics of NPs directly in a solid phase. Prospects of Eye-One Pro mini-spectrophotometer use for monitoring formation or sorption of the nanoparticles when obtaining composite materials and as an analytical detection tool when SPR band characteristic is being an analytical response were shown. A relatively low cost, small size, compatibility with computer systems, rapid processing of large data sets, and the possibility of work with small adsorbent portions are among the advantages of the Eye-One Pro.
