Abstract

AbstractA creep experiment with an as‐spun fibre subjected to constant load simulates a continuous drawing process. The tensile force determines the draw ratio to be attained and the rate of the process. The required distance between inlet and outlet rollers of the drawing process at given filament speed can be calculated from the measured period of drawing in the experiment. Furthermore, for a given temperature the optimum time and tensile force conditions for maximum drawing of an as‐spun fibre can be derived.
