Abstract

A new design of an unsymmetrical power divider using rectangular waveguide technique for KaBand (WR 28) is presented. The output phases are balanced. Using optimization procedures of a standard CAD-tool, the design performs return losses better than 19 dB and phase unbalances less than 5° for power partitions from 50/50 up to 65/35 over the relative bandwidth of 10 %. The simulated results agree well with measured data. Detailed geometrical dimensions are given. By using these design rules, a corporate power divider network with 64 output ports is simulated delivering an output unbalance of 0.4 dB and 2.5° and a return loss typically better than 25 dB over the entire bandwidth.
