Abstract

Gas phase chemical conversion performing in fine aerosol particle flow is a new direction of catalytic technology. This method can overcome the shortcomings of traditional catalytic systems and their restrictions for practical applications. The experimental and theoretical investigations of the method have exhibited the reaction rate increase by the 4–5 orders due to no carrier use and specific properties of the surface of micro and nano particles, which perform unsteady state quasi-structure of fine catalyst in reaction zone. Catalyst particle size was measured in situ directly in reaction zone by means of modern physical methods. The investigation results of deep oxidation reactions under laboratory and pilot plan conditions have confirmed the new aerosol catalytic method allows developing of technology with substantially higher technical and economic characteristics than existed.
