This article summarizes some results of research on unsteady flow problems encountered in China. These results are in general little known to the world outside of China. The report is not intended to be general, although it does touch on considerable variety of problems, such as one- and two-dimensional tidal flow in estuaries, dam-break waves, routing of suspended load and prediction of salinity.
