Abstract

AbstractTheoretical solutions for unsteady flow of a three constant Oldroyd fluid and a second order fluid under several different flow conditions of practical interest are obtained. The response of these fluids to suddenly applied external force is investigated in each case. Without using the stick‐slip boundary condition at the wall, it is possible to show that pressure oscillation occurs with both fluids under a certain case.
