Abstract

We report on a case of a temporary increase of the transition temperature of YBaCuO from 90 K to 220 K, which was achieved by slow thermal cycling below 240 K. Because of the correlation of this effect with lattice instabilities at 240 K and below, we argue that T c depends strongly on the mesostructure of the lattice.
