Abstract

A matrix inversion program for unfolding proton recoil spectra has been written for the IBM-7090 computer. The program takes into account distortions due to multiple scattering and end effects. It has been applied to a stilbene scintillation spectrometer using experimentally determined response functions but should equally well be applicable to other types of proton recoil spectrometers. The results of the application of the program to measurements of the neutron spectrum from a Po-Be-source and of the spontaneous neutron fission spectrum from 240Pu is given.
