Abstract
Abstract Unsaturated carboxylates of aluminium having general formulae, Al(OPri)2(OOCR), Al(OPri)(OOCR)2 and A1(OOCR)3 (where, ) have been synthesized by the stoichiometric reactions of aluminium triisopropoxide with unsaturated carboxylic acids, in a non-aqueous medium. The complexes isolated are yellowish or white solids, insoluble in common organic solvents. Infrared spectra indicate that the carboxylate groups in these complexes are bidentically chelated. Thermogravimetrie analysis of the tris-carboxylates have also been, carried out.
