Abstract
AbstractIn this paper, we describe the mechanisms behind the oxidative transformation of vivianite and parasymplesite into formerly not recognized materials that could prove to be novel players in, for example, water splitting or alkali metal intercalation reactions. Based on a sophisticated interpretation of hydrogen‐bonded networks, we were able to identify those phases that have erroneously been classified and to present the crystalline end‐members of the corresponding oxidation chains.
