Abstract
Bacterial infections are a major human health threat given both the increasing incidence of drug-resistant bacteria and the ability of bacteria to form biofilms. Biofilm-related infections are particularly difficult to treat due to their reduced susceptibility to conventional antibiotics. Given the increasing interest in the use of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) as alternatives against bacterial biofilms, our work is focused on the key factors that govern the antibiofilm action of a model AMP at the molecular level.
