Abstract
The fluorescence of a unique potassium-based metal-organic framework [K(H3PMIDA)]n(1), PMIDA [N-(phosphonomethyl)iminodiacetic acid hydrate] has been prepared and used as a fluorescent sensor for sensitive and selective recognition of Non-Protein Nitrogen (NPN) compounds (creatinine, creatine, uric acid) and anions (Brˉ, Clˉ, CO32ˉ and Fˉ). During NPN detection, (1) displays fluorescence enhancement towards creatinine, and creatine. The detection limits for creatinine, creatine, uric acid and Brˉ, Clˉ, CO32ˉ, Fˉ ions are calculated to be 0.93, 0.45, 0.72 and 0.61, 0.72, 0.16, 0.03 ppm.
