Abstract
The turmoil in government and the resulting uncertainty with respect to health care financing have created a unique and unfortunate environment. Health care and business media, including the health care conference lecture circuits and health policy Twitterverse, are a morass of ungrounded opinions with varying degrees of accuracy and historical support. In my humble opinion, many of these hot takes, analyses, and “how to plan for your future” articles tend toward providing comfort as opposed to embracing unpleasant truths. As a self-appointed militant pragmatist and itinerant daydreamer, I would like to share with you some of my unpopular opinions, all of which contain truths that are important to our collective futures.
