Abstract
In Brief Researchers aimed to identify current practices within the ambulatory care setting for using unlicensed assistive personnel (UAP) and features of successful implementations of UAP roles in ambulatory care settings. Results indicated that using a systematic framework can help standardize expectations for UAP. Ensuring adequate training and competency verification and a shared understanding of the UAP role are critical to success.
