Unknown Letters from I. S. Turgenev to Italian Writers

Abstract

Fadeev devoted more than thirty years of his literary work to editorial and publishing activity. He edited and reviewed the manuscripts of hundreds of books, magazines, anthologies, and newspaper and magazine articles, and wrote numerous letters to authors both new and experienced, giving opinions of their work. Publication of materials associated with Fadeev's editorial efforts is just beginning. More than twenty of his editorial reviews are already known to the reader from the collection o his articles of literary criticism Thirty Years' Work [Za tridtsat' let]. They are in the section "Leafing Through Published and Unpublished Manuscripts."
