University's disability studies faculty research link between disability and incarceration

Abstract

Faculty in the Rutgers University–Newark's disability studies program have researched the link between disability status/classifications and incarceration (https://bit.ly/48ixYXp). The researchers argue that disability and special education play a significant role in the “special ed to prison pipeline.” One researcher claimed that one in every three minors arrested in the U.S. has a disability.
