Abstract
The aim of Universal Immunization Programme was to cover all districts in the country by 1990, in a phased manner and target all infants with the primary immunization and all pregnant women with TT immunization. The study has been conducted with the following objectives: To study about Universal Immunization Programme and to observe changes overtime in extent of immunization coverage, to study causes for poor immunization coverage rate in India and other programmes related to immunization in India and to provide suggestions to improve immunization status in the country. Further, results has been interpertated accordingly.
