Abstract

This report highlights the most significant UK copyright decisions in 2023 and provides an overview of the Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Act 2023 and its implications for copyright law. The cases deal with copyright subject matter, originality, infringement, copyright ownership, and remedies (including blocking injunctions). It also discusses the first order made in the legal proceedings brought by stock photography supplier Getty Images against generative AI startup Stability AI.
