AbstractProperty, Real Estate & Development (MIC: 8.3 SIC: 798 NAIC: 25930)United Dominion Realty Trust is a self‐administered real estate investment trust that owns, acquires, renovates, develops and manages middle‐market apartment communities nationwide. At Dec 31 2004, Co.'s apartment portfolio included 273 communities located in 43 markets, with a total of 78,855 completed apartment homes. In addition, Co. had three apartment communities under development. Co. focuses on the broad middle‐market segment of the apartment market that generally consists of renters‐by‐necessity. This group includes young professionals, blue‐collar families, single parent households, older singles, immigrants, non‐related parties and families renting while waiting to purchase a home.
