AbstractProperty, Real Estate & Development (MIC: 8.3 SIC: 6798 NAIC: 525930)United Dominion Realty Trust is a self‐administered real estate investment trust that owns, acquires, renovates, develops and manages apartment communities nationwide. As of Dec 31 2005, Co.'s apartment portfolio included 259 communities located in 43 markets in 16 states, with a total of 74,875 completed apartment homes. In addition, Co. had five apartment communities under development. Co. focuses on the segment of the apartment market that generally consists of renters‐by‐necessity. This group typically includes young professionals, single individuals, single parent households and immigrants.
