Abstract

I present a brief overview of measurements and calculations that establish the unitarity of the Cabibbo–Kobayashi–Maskawa matrix. I also discuss two experimental programs related to checking the unitarity of the CKM matrix: one tests isospin-breaking corrections using T=2 decays; and the other is an experiment to measure the beta asymmetry from polarized Ultra-cold Neutrons (UCNs), which could yield an accurate determination of Vud with different systematic uncertainties than existing data.
