Abstract
We consider the production via gluon fusion and the subsequent decay of color singlet (pseudo)-scalar particles ø at the CERN collider. Stringent upper bounds on the allowed production cross section are obtained from unitarity which make the interpretation of the missing energy events as being due to φ decay highly unprobable.
