Abstract

Lipophilic lanthanide tris(fluorinated β-diketonates) exhibited interesting carrier properties for inorganic anions. Negative FABMS and 13C NMR studies revealed that they bound small Cl − anion with a large hydration energy more strongly than large Br − and I − anions with small hydration energies. The direct anion coordination features of lanthanide complexes offered unique carrier properties for inorganic anions in liquid membrane transport.
