Abstract

The unipolar charging of ultrafine aerosol particles has been studied extensively. In this work, the experimental procedure for the measurement of the charge distributions on aerosol particles of diameters 18, 24, 32 and 42 nm is discussed. The results are presented in tabular and graphic form as a function of the charging parameter ZN o t, where Z is the ionic electrical mobility, N o is the ion number density and t is the aerosol residence time in the unipolar charger.
