Abstract

A uniplanar ultrawideband diversity antenna with dual band-notched characteristics is presented in this letter. The antenna employs orthogonal feeding structure to achieve polarization diversity performance over the ultrawideband from 2.3 to 11 GHz. The dual band-rejected operation is realized by employing two different methods. In addition, the stepped rectangle stub inserted in the ground at $45^\circ$ and irregular ground plane are adopted to enhance port isolation and antenna performance. The antenna was fabricated to study the performance such as $S$ -parameters, radiation pattern, peak gain, antenna efficiency, and envelope correlation coefficient. Reasonable results show the suitability of the proposed antenna for portable terminal devices.
