Abstract

This paper surveys the attitudes of union members in California, Michigan, Ohio, and Tennesee, toward Japanese direct investments from the United States. A sample of 1,950 respondents from the four states was relied upon, and the current paper focuses upon the attitudes of the 201 union members drawn from this larger data base. Attitudinal responses are analyzed for questions relating to a wide variety of topics. The research sheds light upon the attitudes of union members towards economic issues, political issues, organizational and consumer issues, and sociocultural issues.
